Setting course for 2030

As an equipment rental company, our business model places us in a prime position in the energy transition and in the effort to reduce carbon emissions. As such, we constantly reduce the amount of resources consumed by our branches, support our clients in transforming their patterns and habits and in a co-innovation approach to progressively define the environmentally friendly worksites and events of the future.

Our environmental goals

To meet both Paris Climate Agreement and EU’s carbon reduction target, Ramirent has done carbon reduction commitment by 2030. 

Carbon reduction commitment covers the whole value chain.

Ramirent’s direct emissions: heating and electricity usage of our buildings and fuel consumption of our vehicles.

Focus is to use less energy (heating, fuel and electricity) and the one we use after all energy saving actions needs to be from renewable energy sources.

Ramirent’s indirect emissions: e.g. when our customers use our rental equipment and outsourced logistics.

The use of our equipment by our clients represents 50% of the total Ramirent’s Group carbon footprint. The conversion of our fleet towards low carbon alternatives is therefore a major lever for action.

Reduce our direct environmental impact

Use less energy and only renewable

We reduce our electricity and heating consumption in all our premises and fuel consumption of our internal vehicles. The one we still use after the reductions to be only renewable energy.

To reduce our direct environmental impact, it’s vital to use less energy and the one we use to be renewable. So we improve the energy efficiency of our premises, optimize delivery rounds, aim for renewable energy contracts, but we also promote our personnel’s involvement on energy saving actions.
