RAMIRENT PLC COMPANYRELEASE 9.5.2008 AT 7.59 a.m. RAMIRENT PRESIDENT AND CEO KARI KALLIO TO RETIRE IN 2009 Ramirent President and CEO Kari Kallio has informed the Board of Ramirent of his intention to retire in year 2009. The generation shift, being carried out in consultation with Ramirent's Board of Directors, is expected to occur not later than in conjunction with the 2009 Annual General Meeting. The Board of Ramirent has initiated the process of finding a new President and CEO. Kari Kallio will continue in his role as President and CEO until his successor assumes office. “I have had an exciting assignment to manage a rapidly growing company and implement a number of acquisitions. However, managing a growth company, with operations in 13 countries, has been arduous and has affected my private situation. Accordingly, I have reached an agreement with the Board to retire in 2009,” comments Kari Kallio. “Until the new President is appointed and provided a transition period, I will continue to lead the Group with full effort.” “Kari Kallio has successfully managed Ramirent through an international expansion phase since the end of 2005. Kari Kallio has expressed his desire to relinquish operating responsibility to new vigor and retire in 2009. We will now actively seek his successor and, as a result, are disclosing these plans,” says Peter Hofvenstam, Chairman of Ramirent.
