Ramirent will be a machine supplier when Börshuset in Malmö, dating back to the 1870s, is renovated and partially rebuilt. An assignment that extends over just under two years.
Wihlborgs Fastigheter AB, which currently owns the property, has begun the transformation of Börshuset, where Veidekke has been commissioned to carry out the renovation and construction. Ramirent has been chosen as the machine supplier for the historic building. The project starts this summer and is expected to last for 20 months.
- We will deliver a complete solution with elevators, sheds and construction machinery. In addition, a lot of barrier material and construction fences, as Börshuset is centrally located in Malmö, with many passers-by, says Richard Andersson, project salesman at Ramirent.
The ambition is for Börshuset to become a more open meeting place for Malmö residents. The existing office section will be renovated and partly rebuilt. In addition, there are plans for a conference facility, possible co-working spaces and a restaurant with outdoor seating on the ground floor. On floors 3 and 4, the idea is to create a rooftop terrace as a pleasant place for those who rent space in the building.
- The building has a strong cultural-historical value and is subject to special protection provisions. During the renovation, it is therefore important that the work is carried out carefully and with respect for the building’s original details and materials. For example, we cannot use elevators inside the building, with the risk of damaging the floors. Instead, we will work with scaffolding, says Richard Andersson.
In addition to machines, Ramirent will also assist with the RamiConnect service, which makes it easy to keep track of the rental stock, ensure that you always have the right machines in place and keep track of the carbon dioxide emissions generated by the machines used.
